What is Mental Health Housing?
Mental health housing is a transitional program that helps ease people into their journeys toward wellness and mental health recovery. At our mental health homes, clients will be taught invaluable skills that will drastically increase the chances of maintaining a fulfilling life. It is less rigid in structure than residential treatment. Clients will be randomly drug tested and checked in each night and transportation to and from 12-step meetings will be provided.

Will food be provided at Riviera Recovery Mental Health Housing?
Yes. Clients will receive a $75 food card each week to help them learn shopping and budgeting skills.

What is the recommended length of stay?
Each person is unique, so it is best to consult a member of the staff. The minimum recommended stay is 90 days, however, clients can decide whether or not to continue their residency at the end of each month.

What is case management for addiction?
Case management is a more intensive, hands-on program. Our team will make sure the client is attending meetings and meeting with their sponsor regularly (if that is a part of their treatment plan), actively participating in-house activities, and attending all medical and therapy appointments. They will also supervise client taking medication, provide additional transportation if necessary, and keep an open line of communication with the client’s treatment team, which may include therapists, doctors, outpatient team, etc.

Are clients able to visit Riviera Recovery after they move out?
Absolutely! We have an open door policy for all of our clients. We encourage them to come back and visit any time, continue to participate in group activities, and attend our weekly in-house meeting.

When will my loved one be able to start working and/or going to school again?
Everyone is different; you should consult one of our staff members regarding this issue. For more information on how to navigate the world of a loved one’s addiction and heal yourself, locate a local Al-Anon meeting close to you.

I will not have a car during my stay in sober living. Will transportation be provided?
Our staff provides transportation to/from 12-step meetings at the SUD home, other mental health meetings for the MH home, grocery store, and clincial appointments. If clients requires additional transportation, they may want to discuss the option of case management.

Does Riviera Recovery promote maintaining 100% abstinence from drugs/alcohol?
Yes.

Does Riviera Recovery guarantee that each client will stay sober after leaving sober living?
Unfortunately, it would not be possible to have a 100% guarantee of this nature, however many Riviera Recovery clients who moved out maintain contact with our staff and remain sober to this day.
